mixing two dispalcement shaders with stencil

hi,

not sure if this is the right place but i was trying to mix two different displacement texture channels utilizing a stencil texture channel between them.

my end-result is that the first displacement channel is 100% visible (hence there is not stencil on top.

the second channel is the stencil which will cut out the third channel and only show parts of the displacement down there.


the problem i encountered is that as long as i use any color information the mixing will work perfectly. however when I use the displacement option the first displacement channel is always visible.


does any body know if i am doing something wrong or if this is truly a limitation in blender.
