I'm having problems drawing toon style edges around objects in my render. Lots of websites say that I need to click the "unified render" button in order to access some of the options in the "edge settings" dialogue, such as "antishift" and "all."

To illustrate my point, I have a nifty quote:
"Blender has an option of adding a border-an edge to objects (like in cartoons). To do that you need to go to the render buttons (F10) and then, under "output" change the edge setting: set the "Eint" to a value of about 100 and check the "edge" icon to enable edge rendering. This would give you edge line at the edge of each polygon. To prevent it from applying on all polygons the same way change to "unified render" under the format tab. Then, in the edge settings change the "antishift" value, it will decrease itself from the fint value when the line is between identical materials. By also checking the "all" icon you tell the render to apply the edge rendering on transparent materials as well."

I heard that the unified render button was removed in 2.42, but how can I access the other edge options without it? Is this a bug?

As you said the unified button is no longer there.
If you goto the output panel you will see a button edge settings
just click it and you'll get the extra settings.

I see the edge settings button. I'm looking for the other options that are supposedly in the edge settings dialog (the one that comes up when you press the button), like antishift and stuff, as shown below.

All I see are edge intensity and color. Am I missing something or were these options removed in 2.42?

Does anyone have an answer to this?
Are these options unnecessary?
Should I go ask this question on a different forum?
