Blender Crashes When trying to use openCL

Post by MrAwesome987 » Sun Apr 29, 2012 8:28 pm

Hi,

I just got the new Blender 2.63 today and I have tried countless times to get the Cycles Render Engine to work.

My problem is that when I change the "Feature Set" to "Experimental", then the "device" to "GPU Compute" and then click Image, it will say "Compiling OpenCL kernel" and after a few minutes a window will pop up and say that "Blender has stopped working."

Thanks for the help in advance!

Does it crash when you dont have experimental selected? I know even my nvidia card with cuda will crash occasionally when I have experimental selected.

using a 2.63a build, the first time it said "Compiling OpenCL kernel" and that took a while, but every other time I pick "experimental" it goes boom

it may have something to do with my GTX295 not reporting the OpenCL version correctly as 1.1 (which would be my fault since I'm using beta drivers anyway)
you are suffering from delusions of adequacy
