renderd/broker a.k.a. renderdemon

Post by bertram »

I've got a win32 binary of the 0.44 renderd/broker from http://www.crosscannon.com.
It works good (in the meantime, since I figured out the Dos and Don'ts) for simple scenes. But I got the impression, that blender became too verbose with the current cvs, so that the broker doesn't understand the renderd/blender's feedback any more. See the screenshot and notice the messages "ERROR unknown response from renderd":

Is there anybody who maintains this piece of code at the moment?
I once again request to re-open the issue of distributed rendering of animations... I somehow feel like I've sculpted a graceful statue (with all the new modelling features) but I can't get it out of my studio to the showroom because the door is too small (the power of one CPU is by far too little)!!!

Although I do agree that blender needs a good render daemon i think your post is a little dramatic. (nice!)

It's very easy on some windows machines to render an animation.
I'm sure you know how, if not drop me an email and I'll can assist.

:D Well, I like drama! btw: I really feel like the situation is becoming pretty dramatic.

Done! Thanks for your offer. Probably the 'dramatic' situation gets defused very fast.

Renderd/broker now works in Blender 2.34.

Here's the binary.
