Incorrect rendering nearest faces

Post by nixite »

I too often see incorrect rendering in internal blender render, when two faces placed near each other. I think this is a bug, because yafray render correctly in this case.

See my post with images at elysiun: http://www.elysiun.com/forum/viewtopic. ... highlight=

Is it able to do anything with it to fix this bug for a future...? maybe some options and recompile?

Thanks.

yafray isn't a scanline renderer, as in it doesn't use a depth buffer.

what you're seeing is called z fighting, and it can't be eliminated in a scanline renderer.

actually the cvs version of blender should be better that 2.41 since the zbuffer implementation was changed which I believe gives greater precision than that of 2.41
