Transparent Objects

Post by SkyRenderX2 » Wed Apr 05, 2006 6:44 pm

I have a transparent mesh object which contains a sphere. The embedded sphere doesn't get rendered (I only get a black circle where the sphere should be). However anything else behind the mesh object does get rendered, since the mesh object is transparent. Is there any way to toggle the settings in order to make something visible if it is inside of a transparent mesh object? Thanks for any help.

I can't seem to replicate your problem.

swich "double sided" off!

Try to swich off "double sided" in Edit-Menu (F9)
Then the inner side shouldn't be rendered...

Make sure you turn on Z-Trans if you are using simple transparency. Or increase the Depth value for ray-traced transparency.

make either the transparant mesh stop casting shadows, or set the sphere to receive transparant shadows.
