when coding a game, is it possible to make it compatible with a gamepad? or even an Xbox 360 controller?

idk about the coding part. But if you have your xbox controller drivers installed on your pc, blender will pick it up as a joypad. If you know how to set up a scene and set keyboard keys to your project?! Instead of chosing keyboard, chose joypad.

hmm... this will definately help =) thanks.

but... can i make it use the joypad and the keyboard at the same time? (or at least make it an option since not everyone has a joypad...)

im not sure about making it a option, Im sure with python scripting theres a way.

As far as the keyboard and joypad goes seeing you need to select joypad or keyboard everytime you assign a movement, try configuring both. first do keyboard then try the joypad underneith.

Keyboard / W / (and) force 1.00 (moveforward)

Joyspad / up / (and) force 1.00 (moveforward)

Something like that!
Hope I wasn't to confusing.
Good Luck

Even better would be...

Keyboard / W / ("or" controller) force 1.00 (moveforward)

Joyspad / up / (connected to "or" controller above )

Even better! I tried this with my xbox controller awhile back and it works. The next step is for me to figure out multi player!?!?

Good Luck!!!
