Error to save as runtime on 2.34 for Mac

Hello.

I´m new at this forum, and newbie with Blender. I just downloaded the 2.34 version for Mac OS, and when I save as runtime I get this error:

"Unable to open Blend file"

What am I doing bad?

I don't think there are a lot of people on our side.
Probably better luck getting it fixed by buying a pee-cee.

No, I'm not bitter considering it hasn't worked right since, hmm I don't think it ever has for Mac. At least 2.25 let you make a runtime.

Hello Farbin.

Blender don´t shows me your error: "Can´t find the Runtime..." My Blender shows me: "Can´t open the blender file"

I just try with Mac OS 10.2 and 10.3 versions and nothing (the 10.2 don´t have the BlenderPlayer.app)

If I have response from any forum or web, I´ll notify to you.

I just try with Linux version under Debian and I have the same problem

But first I apologize for not welcoming you to the Blender community right away. Instead I ranted about my problems. Every person counts here. Welcome!!

I'm still hanging in there. So what if I can't make a runtime with 2.34. I still have a lot of work to do before I even show a demo right now and it WILL get fixed. Maybe not in the timeframe "I" want it to be, but it will get done.

Hmmm, I was going to put together a quick YellowDog installation, but I don't know if I will have the time until the weekend. We shall see.

Hang in there, welcome and glad to see another Mac user.

I don't have a Mac, so I'm just flying blind.

Is the blenderplayer.app available? All making a runtime on OSX does it rename the blend file to game.blend and put it in the Resources/ part of the player bundle.

No, There is no Blenderplayer.app in the Blender folder (OS X 10.2.8, don't know about 10.3)

Just the Blender.app which does not have the player inside, but you are right. The .blend file gets renamed to game.blend ... etc.

hi,
you must create a directory somewhere on your disk,
then doubleclick on the "blender-2.34-OSX-10.3-powerpc.dmg" file,
then copy all the file in the "virtual drive" in the previus created dir.

you should see only few file, but there's a lot.

now you can launch Blender from here and you can use the Runtime
features.

I just try it but I have the same problem again...

I have a new folder called Blender in my Desktop. Then I copy all the files from virtual drive created by double-clicking the .DMG into this folder.

I launched blender... I created and saved a file and when I´m going to "save as runtime", Blender show me the same error once.

Those are the files I can see in my folder:

Blender.app
Blenderplayer.app
GPL-license.txt
copyright.txt
older releases (folder)
Plugins (folder)
Blender.html
Python-license.txt
Release_234.txt

Am I wrong?

Hi,
I had the same your problem,
but with the described procedure was all right.

Maybe stupid, but have you lauunch the Blender.app in the new directory?

You can try to delete the old blender installation, including some hidden files
(go in the shell and enter as superuser (su - "enter" ) and go around in the hd).

I'm running on MacOSX 10.3.5 and Blender 2.34.

On my mac this procedure works.

OK, I have been keeping a lazy eye on this post because creating a stand-alone .app is important to me for "game" distributions.

My earlier problem with creating run-times is due to the fact that I am running OSX 10.2.8 (I am not ready to pay for an update so that I can use my free software yet). The 10.2 release doesn't have the BlenderPlayer.app.

So, I have been fooling around, and I was able to create and run a .app with the 10.3 release. I use the showMouse() function (to display the mouse cursor of course) but it displays not as the system cursor but the same one that Blender uses for selecting faces in UV mode (little arrow with a curved tail).

Anyone have any ideas or should I stop fooling around and just upgrade (because this is all my fault anyway :)
