Confining Particles to the surface of a sphere

Post by rben13 »

I'd like to find a way to confine particles to the surface of a sphere in order to create a specific effect. I'm trying to create something that looks like sparks crawling over the surface of an object. For simplicity, I'm starting with a sphere. I can get objects to rotate and stay on the sphere, but I want the sparks to have some random elements to their movement. I'm using Brownian motion for that.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

hey, about your problem... you could try using an object for collision and use the same object as a force field, or you could use a curve guide with the same colision object for better control over the surface...
