Animating a group's transparency?

Post by pancreasboy » Mon May 10, 2010 3:31 am

Hi there,

is there any other way to animate a groups' transparency other than through it's materials in Blender 2.5? It would be pretty laborious if I had to set keyframes up for a group that had 20 materials on it.

eg if I wanted a car to fade in on a background whilst driving through the scene

Use 1 Render Layer for background and the second Render Layer for your car. Then use Node Editor to combine these two layers and to fade out a car layer.

Anyway it is about 10 times easier and faster to do this in a typical video editing software like Premiere or Final Cut Pro.

Sounds good to me, I'm using Blender 2.5 Alpha 2, are Render Layers in that version yet?

I tried to do this tutorial http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BEa-xw7CvXQ but couldn't find the Render Layers.
