Blender Keeps Crashing

Post by nwpmen » Wed Oct 09, 2013 2:00 am

I finished a animation on Blender 2.68 the other day and every time I reach frame 4000 it crashes. I've rendered similar types of videos before but never this long.

The computer stats are FAR above the required to run the program so I don't think that that would be a issue, would it?

Without knowing what the crash message is, it would be very hard to diagnose. Rendering directly to video, especially large animations risks everything if something crashes. Suggest rendering as individual frames, then combine later as video. If it crashes again at 4000-ish, you can simply resume the render at that point.

The two most common reasons for crashes are running out of memory and bad video drivers.

Running Blender from the command line should give more information.
