keyframe single vertices

Hi,
I'm quite new to Blender and I have a question concerning keyframing: How can you keyframe single vertices of an object?
So far it didn't work - every time I apply a keyframe to a vertice in Edit Mode nothing happens and when I then jump to Object Mode there have been applied keyframes for the whole object, but nothing changes when playing back the animation.

you could help him out a bit more... elysuin is the USER forums, these forums are for CODERS, and the like.... so you would get a better responce from the user forums

what you are trying to do is called RVK or AVK (i think) relative vertex keys and absolute vertex keys. if you read through the blender manual http://www.blender3d.org/cms/Documentation.628.0.html you will find how to do it.
