can i record ik armature movement in the ipo mouse capture?

hello,

ive already posted this on elysiun, but had no response, so i thought maybe someone here might know about this.....

one of the best features of blender is to be able to record mouse movement in up to two dimensions, even rotation, in real time. What i would like to do is to animate the end of IK chains, such as a hand or foot in this manner - it's very quick to work and has an undeniable unique quality of giddiness that is ideal for many uses. The problem is that when you hit 'r' in the ipo window wit a bone selected in pose mode, the bone doesn't move at all. I ve also tried a 'copy location' constraint on the bone, also to no avail.
