Sweets !

Of course You know what is broken and what is not working, the falloff of smooth and sharp deletes the meshes site.

would be nice if you could add add more than one to deform it. And that it, it just needs some tuneing and tweeking.

Coo !

Hey, fun to see what weird things people do with my horrible softbody stuff :) I especially liked the red glibber cube :)

As for the "Falloff" mesh vanishing stuff: Yes, the falloff is an incomplete feature which I never finished coding...

I hope I'll find the time to write some decent documentation for this, as especially the "Dynamic" effect is difficult to handle without it.

Oh, and I'll have to remember how it all works myself first! :)

Blend that uses Ext Coll and works in instinctive-blender. If it doesn't work for you, there's something wrong with the port.

This seems interesting, but cloth is disappointing; there is no apparent way to pin parts of the cloth to places.

I think this effect would work quite nicely with the proposed Effects Buttons here: http://www.shadeless.dk/ui/effectswindow.htm

With a whole dedicated button window it could allow for many more relevant options.

At the moment you can 'pin' parts of a cloth by capturing them in a few vertices of the deforming object

pinned_cloth.

I'm aware it's a bit of a hack, but it show it is kinda possible.

Exactly like JesterKing said... it's also used in this demo from blender.instinctive.de ...

Well, if you are on Linux, you have the privilege of being able to directly use instinctive-blender :)

it works perfectly, but i have also the EXT COLL bug, blender crashes if i try to use it. Thanks very much :).
It would be perfect, if the effect could apply the deformation after the deformation of the deformed object by armature / that would let you do very very nice skinsliding(at least i think so), and maybe even allow a character to touch itself with proper deformation, just if the effect would take the deformed mesh as input. But i guess that would already want some kind of modifier stack. So sorry if this is an impossible feature request. Here is a link to a file with my experiment showing the topic:

You can find a linux build over here: http://www.letwory.net/cvsbuilds/ . It is aptly called softbody_blender.tar.gz
