tuhopuu2/windows (04/07/11) (Creases + LSCM + UV Paint fun)

Post by bjornmose » Mon Jul 12, 2004 12:32 am

again no DLLs included
just a 2.4M zip-file
AQSIS disabled

but:
Creases should work
LSCM should work ( hmm .. old tuhopuu generated files will show some stange effects /* data structures have changed */ )

UV Paint fun
is as it states some experimental stuff in UV editors paint panel.
/* not even proposed to the core team , since it is VERY hacky */
So if you want to have it cheer out LOUD!

Several brushes with individual settings stored.
Variable fall off for brushes.
Airbrush like painting.
Soften brush.
2 additional Airbrushes /* white and black by default --> brighten,darken */
"Brush shape cursor"

Cool, now I can actually see where to paint with that new "show tool preview" option, thanks! :)

The soften brush and the invidual tool settings seriously rock as well!

There's one issue, however (dunno if it's already known):
Image

As it shows, the cursor (and painting) doesn't update when keeping the actual (windows) mouse cursor inside the inner circle of the brush/tool cursor (changes when modifying the fall off).

I'm using Blender with a GeForce3 Ti 200 + latest driver, if that helps any.

microsoft would say : this is by design.
i took the idea from paint shop pro, where you can define a "stepnumber" in percent of the brushdiameter. atm this is fixed at 50% but making it user adjustable is on todo list. if it would trigger painting every mouse move painting density would depend on the current zoom setting. Thats the way it was, and it was impossible to have reproducable transparent painting.

Heh, I see what you mean :)

But would it be possible to make the brush shaped cursor itself (so not the painting) move smoothly around the view so it doesn't 'feel' so weird/rough?
I think that would make the painting experience a bit nicer.

btw. Are there any plans to support pressure sensitivity (for us tablet users :))?

sure... only has to be coded :)
