bf-blender / Linux (2004/07/20)

Post by ebrain »

Here is my last bf-blender build for linux (only binary distributed) :

blender20040720_linux_i386.tgz

Please test it with the last test suite if you wanna help us to debug :

http://download.blender.org/demo/test/test234.zip

All bug reports may be given in this thread, or simply use the Bug Tracker...we need your feedback about. This build was done with GCC 3.3.2 with no optimizations flags.

Cheers,

Hey, where's the others...??

Anyway, thank you for the build!

At the moment I've tried all the files in the test.zip and all works fine
I'm doing my regular work (mostly with the game engine) and all's fine either

BUT...no new features for the game engine?????????

Bye

Yep, there are naturally new features for the game engine, but not test file for them :( If you wanna know more about new features (copy/paste of last jesterKing's commit) :
Game Engine

Kester Maddock continues the work on the gameengine, by adding a huge amount of python reference documentation, new cool features like shadow mapping and multi-texture (in Tuhopuu), getting blenderplayer compiled and working, and Ortho camera support to mention a few.
...or just take a look at this page :)

Cheers,
PS: it's my first distributed build here, built with SCONS & GCC 3.3.2

I'm on Fedora Core 1 with the latest updates. I have Python 2.34 installed. I can run bf-blender-20040715 without problems.

bf-blender-20040720 generates the following:

./blender: error while loading shared libraries: libpython2.3.so.1.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

Code: Select all

./blender: error while loading shared libraries: libpython2.3.so.1.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
Yeah, I know it... I've asked jesterKing why some libs are used as EXTERNAL and he told me that with SCONS building, libs are linked dynamically...(someone is working on now). So you have to have all libs installed on your computer (don't know if I'm clear :? ).
For missed libs, you can search some RPMs at http://rpm.pbone.net or http://rpmfind.net (just paste the name of missed lib and search).

Problem resoloved.

libpython2.3-2.3-6sls.i586.rpm contained the needed file. It is available on this page: http://rpm.pbone.net/index.php3/stat/4/ ... ml#content
