Blender OSX 10.2 release candidate

Post by ton » Sun Aug 01, 2004 10:31 pm

check this:

http://download.blender.org/demo/test/b ... rpc.tar.gz

I still cant get the new help menu options working. On my system the
python scripts fails in calling the browser. Would like to hear from others
if this works on their 10.2/10.3 with this build.

thanks!

Python session in Terminal:
>>> import sys, webbrowser
>>> webbrowser.get()
I get:
<webbrowser.InternetConfig instance at 0x460d00>
(i.e. Safari)

In Blender started from CLI:
Alt P
import sys, webbrowser
webbrowser.get()
I get:
<webbrowser.GenericBrowser instance at 0x908828>
(i.e. Lynx)

In Blender started from finder:
Console:
Traceback (most recent call last):
File "<string>", line 34, in ?
File "/sw/lib/python2.3/webbrowser.py", line 43, in open
get().open(url, new, autoraise)
File "/sw/lib/python2.3/webbrowser.py", line 38, in get
raise Error("could not locate runnable browser")
webbrowser.Error: could not locate runnable browser

It seems that webbrowser.open() cannot find the right environment when run from Blender... Why?

thanks for this build - i haven't upgraded yet to panther, which makes all the other builds useless to me.

haven't done in-depth testing yet.
