Um... just a thought. Doesn't enabling ztransp activate face sorting? If so, that would be a pointless slowdown for just alpha testing.

Other than that, great job! It's wonderful to see that someone is still working on the game engine :D

Why don't people listen? :P

1. Normal alpha faces with ztransp will be sorted.

2. Opaque faces with ztransp will use alpha testing instead.

3. I repeat since faces using alpha testing use depth testing there of course is no need to sort!

4. Normal alpha faces will sometimes have order problems even when sorted. Faces with alpha testing will never have order problems.

6. Alpha testing(opaque with ztransp) == stencil like alpha.

7. Alpha blending(alpha/add) == blended alpha.

8. They have different uses.

Hi, all your features are working great! Thank you very much- it's good to know people still care about the game engine :)

PS, It's occasionally useful to have the old style two-sided lighting, like when simulating light through thin materials like curtains. Maybe you could re-enable it when the material's translucency value is at 1?

Hey, you checked on the ways to get in touch with the dev team?

http://www.blender3d.org/cms/Get_Involved.233.0.html

You can find the link to subscribe to the bf-committers mailing list there, we really can use dev power for the engine!

Would also be nice to hear from you what areas you would like to work on, we got a bug tracker with issues to solve as well. :)
