bf-Blender / Windows (2005/10/08) Tweak/Fullscreen/particles

Post by Bellorum »

People with ATI graphics cards should avoid this build!

For background, check this thread on Elysiun:
http://www.elysiun.com/forum/viewtopic. ... 1&start=30

Duoas posted a build with the old fullscreen mode reenabled (Yay!), however his CVS was a few weeks old, so I've made my own build from todays CVS, with a little help from Duoas.

This build also has Tweak mode enabled, and Janne Karhu's particle patch. STill haven't been able to successfully patch the wireframe stuff. Built with Cygwin. have fun!

:) Tweak is when you click-drag a vert, edge or face as opposed to selecting and then (g)rabbing. There has been a tweak in Blender for a while, however some of us have issues with the implementation. Ton has decided that Tweak mode put too much strain on the wrist, and decided on click-drag-confirm click instead. It's a matter of preference, I guess, but most non-rheumatics prefer the original approach

I have no idea why. I'm not a coder either. But do remember that this code was considered unstable, and that's why it was disabled.

I can't run my blend files that i saved in the official 2.37a version properly. The armatures dont work in the game engine and i have no sound! :(

I think it is because of the latest build. Can't anyone make a build from the official 2.37 version but with fullscreen in it?!

Please, i need it! :(

Hey, thanks ZanQdo!
I've registered and hope to hear from you soon.

I'll probably make a new build tomorrow, considering JLuc Peuriere just committed N_T's fluid stuff to the bf-tree. :) I'll give it a day, so he can sort out any immediate problems.

Sorry if some of you have problems with these builds.

Here we go - A new build with the recent fluid commit. As before, tweak/fullscreen are enabled. Included a new splash, just for fun, because I figured out how too. :) Simple yafray GI/caustics test, no critique necessary ;) ATI card users need not bother, since fullscreen won't work like it should. As always, have fun! :)

Its really great you bring these feature into life. I run on a 23"inch monitor with 1920*1200 and it still feels appropriate to have the fullscreen mode because it gives a certain "feel".

The tweak mode is just unbeatable when it comes to fast manipulating of vertices, dont really understand why its not there all the time.. a great feature in my opinion.

NP :) New build available in the first post of the thread, with new weight painting stuff, and a brand new physics-tab.
Log:
Created a new sub-context ("tab") for all physics related button panels.
There we can find now Particles, Fields & deflectors, Soft Body and Fluids.
This also as preparation for more work on the particle side (becomes two
panels).
Log:
Made WeightPaint use shaded mode. This thanks to the preparations as done
by daniel before. :)
Note; the shaded display uses smooth normals by default, because thats how
the derived mesh works!
