Under construction .
It seems to improve the old Magnetic Grid method . Look at the View Properties panel, there is a new slider : Divisions .

No worse than mine .

Thanks again jms for posting these builds :)

The November 12 compile complains of a missing file:

iconv.dll

though it is easy to find with a google search.
(most probably also have it if they search their hard drive)

Maybe this should be added to the blenderpack file
or is it just a compile issue?

Plus there seems to be a very bad bug using a
Wacom Intuos mouse (tablet) with the recent
CVS builds (which is not the case with version 2.42).
It completely ignores the tablet mouse driver, meaning
that you have to move the mouse across the entire tablet in
order to move across the Blender UI.

Anyone else experiencing this issue?
(Going to dl the latest mouse driver to see if that fixes it).

I reported this bug:

[ #5269 ] texture paint causes Blender to freeze

Apparently this bug occurs in win32blender2011.zip build.

Here are the instructions on how to recreate the problem:

1) Open the attached blend file there are two texture images in the textures folder (face1.jpg and face2.jpg).

2) Blender should already be in texture paint mode so start painting. When the brush crosses one of the orange seem lines while painting then blender freezes.

The reason I want to have two UV images is so I can have more detail on the character's face so I can put detailed wrinkles. Otherwise I have to use a huge 2048 X 2048 or higher single image do texture my character.

I checked your file with the lguillaume's compilation of the 11/20 and the problem does not appear . It seems that this is limited to my testbuild .

If the two pictures are "replaced" then everything works correctly but not if they are just reloaded .

Thank you for this build! I have to ask though: why have you changed the default scene? It seems strange to have an initial scene with the povanim script in a text editor, which uses an orthographic camera, and which has a subdivided cube.
