With my AMD 64 works very, very good.
Render a scene (AO and raytracing) on Win Xp took 4.03 min.
The same on Suse 10.0 64 Bit edition took 2.10 min.
I think is great. Thanks for this built I hope to see there also the final release...

any distribution of linux should work fine - I think Ubuntu, Redhat, Suse, and regular Debian are the most used by our users.

This rocks hard
on my gentoo-Linux (AMD64). It's so fast!
I couldn't find any bugs yet, sorry

Like so many others, I am kinda hoping for max use of 64 bit with Blender. I just switched from swift 3D 2 days ago because they informed me they where not planning on being 64 bit compatible in the near future.
So, I was wondering when does Blender plan to have a final release for winXP/Amd 64 bit?

Can't say; if I could figure out how to get blender to build on WinXP I could probably install, but I also know nothing about WinXP-64.

Know nothing for lack of effort or lack of microsoft infomation?

Lack of effort; I'm not a windows users unless there's a gun to my head.
Actually, I spent about 4 hours one afternoon trying to get CVS to compile under WinXP-32 and just gave up. None of the how-tos seemed to work for me. I figured there was no reason to evey try WinXP-64 if I couldn't get it to build in WinXP-32.

Windows is weird. I would like to see what happens in the Microsoft offices just for one day.
It's fine, you may of noticed in my other topic that I will be using blender on a separate Linux partition.
