[update]BF verse patches for windows 06/08/24

Hello, make a new build with verse and 2 patch :
Patch from JMS : To modify strand width depending on the distance to the camera

And a patch a french user ask on a news group to have automatic set of boundbox drawtype when rotating/moving scene or move object for heavy
object :
Update :
- correct a bug which hide mesh
- we can set Ve limit to 0, to use boundbox when some action all times
- Now object with subsurf modifier use boundbox if the subsurf mesh is upper than ve limit (before my patch take only the number vertices of the base mesh)

demo (2MB), patch

My patch is not very good, but if the idea can be taken and integrate properly in Blender it would be cool.

What do it about Blender + Gimp connected via Verse ???

Excellent work!

Is it possible to have a VERSE server was set up somewhere on the Blender ( or other ) server, and have this server URL as the default setting when selecting File->Verse->Connect ( eg )?

This should encourage more people to try it out, and see just how cool VERSE really is!

If the server crashes often, maybe set up a script to reset it every other hour or something.

I remember there used to be one running here ( ), which is where I got my first real taste of how powerful VERSE could be.

Up again, but there are video downloads too, so do not expect performance. Maybe someone can send me a script.

verse not running start verse
wait for verse crashing

No time for doing it for myself.

Thanks for this Updated Build!
The automatic set of boundbox drawtype when rotating/moving scene or move object for heavy objects is very very Usefull!! Blender needs this Feature Integrated in the User Preferences!!
....its a MUST!!!
Simply Amazing!

Great to see Verse back in the fold.

I too am hoping for some Gimp Blender exchange via Verse. Is it possible yet?

I update my path, now fasterdraw is applied when object have more vertice than limit vertice :set in info panel view&control tab, push the button boundboxdraw when action (have to change the button name)

Subsurf modifier is disable, but I have some problems to solve : mirror, array and certainly other modifier is disable for moment.

I will never put the patch on the tracker because I've made a similar patch last year and have rejected with good reason : old patch in the tracker

I just want the idea taken to make a better modification, some commercial programs have a fast view to faster the redraw, the fault is not blender but opengl.
This patch is request from some user who import high models, and found annoying the slowest redraw when for example turning the scene.

wondows exe and patch the patch is not yet commented because is a WIP.

you can put stuff in the tracker that is not meant to be applied also, that is just for others to use...

Update after talk with ZanQdo on #blendercoders.
He wants a choice of drawtype when some action : boundbox, vertex, wireframe :

You can always choose the limit of vertice before transforming (10 means 10000 vertices and mesh with more than 10000 vertice will have his drawtype changed)

It would be great if you can have also a Option like this for the Particles in the User Preferences!
if you have a mesh emiter with many particles animated and grab to move in another position the Interactive movement in 3D view window slows down!Its slow ! also if its Parent to a Bone or Armature...!
only if you set the Disp:100 in the Particles Panel to 0 or lower % prozentual numbers is faster!

So... if you have this option selected in the User Preferences: when you grab the Mesh (emiter) then the Particles not vissible during the movement (no slow) and then if you click to left your mesh somewhere again Vissible!auto -Recalculated !

Drawtype fo Particles when some Action when Transform! Vissible not vissible:on/off
