Wrong link to documentation?

Post by _styken »

At blender3d.org the link to user documentation is:

http://www.blender.org/modules/documentation/htmlI/

While at blender.org the link is:

http://download.blender.org/documentation/htmlI/

Since the blender.org link is more up to date it should be set as default, or?

I don't have access to that section, so just to help out
the page in question is:
http://www.blender3d.org/cms/Manuals___Books.111.0.html

I found that very confusing there should be a clear link to the modules section and not to some book selling page. So the link at blender org should be updated and not vice versa! On that whole page i couldnt find one link to the very usefull modules at www.blender.org .

I tried to adres this issue before. In my own un communicative way ofcourse.

Documentation is used as header for 3 different things:

1. Offline documentation (ie books in eshop)

2. Online documentation (modules Volume I - User Guide)

3. Online documentation overview. (on blender.org)

Yes, http://www.blender.org/modules/documentation/htmlI/ is outdated, any links pointing to this page should better point to http://download.blender.org/documentation/htmlI/ or even better point to
http://www.blender.org/modules.php?op=m ... file=index
(except the ones on that page !)

Blender webpages are growing and growing, and old pages are getting more and more obsolete, outdated and confussing. This issue needs to be adressed more and more urgent. What is the current 'new-website' status?

I offered my help more then once but I keep hearing this big silence.
