Cool logos here. I like psymon's best so far.

I don't know if I have the time to make this into a proper "weathered" look, but I thought I'd share this anyway. It's the rough shape of the characters based on a pencil sketch.

[edit]Well, I spent some time trying weather it, even used some photos of glowing embers. But you know what? Simple, clean always looks best to me. It is recognizable, readable, and still has a nice combination of sharp and and curved letters. A logo should be simple right? The eye candy will come from the renders, right?

If nothing else, mine is probably the smallest svg submitted:

Here is my attempt, Sorry if it's not the greatest quality this is the first time I have ever used Inkscape, I can clean it up a little later.

This are two versions of my logo for Sintel.
I've taken the old typo Breitkopf-Fraktur (1750) and capitalized the first and last chars. 'S' is modified in order to make it more readable... In this two versions the wings are different.

Looking through the posts (amazing work, guys!) inspired me to give this another go. Trying to combine the Dragon, Fire, and Tribal elements into an ensign that can also interface with the text.

Hi !

I like the current police design on the website. So I just tried to redesign the S as a dragon, mixed with the Dragon tree symbol.

First version, kind of snake-like dragon, to keep the S shape :
