How do i get a objcet to pivot?

I am making a water simulation and these two doors open ( they swing open ). but my only problem is that they don't pivot on a spot.. it rotates the whole object... :cry:

probably you should
1) set the pivot point on your desired rotation axis
>>edit mode> set the 3d cursor where you want > F9 > object mode> "center cursor"...and you're done
2) limit their rotation capability to only that axis
one way is to apply a "limit rotation" costraint,
>>f7 > add costraint
