blender cycles question

Post by graphomet » Fri Jan 04, 2013 8:30 am

Hey dudes.

I've got an object in my scene sphere to be exact, added some textures and materials, when I use blender render I can see it with all the textures and materials I've added, but then when I choose cycles I can only see it as a sphere, where's the materials and textures?

Thanks.

Do you mean in the viewport or whenever you render?

Either way, cycles materials are totally different than the blender internal renderer's materials. Meaning, you cant create a blender render material then switch to cycles and expect it to work, you need to use cycles node materials and textures.

Here is a nice tutorial on the subject:

Hope this helps,

Cheers.

Hi Chavar!

Yeah I thought I can make up various materials in blender cycles, and then use blender cycle to get a more realistic render to it,I didn't know that the renders engines were 2 different types.

Thanks for the info dude,I'm slowly getting to know how blender functions
with great community support.

Kind regards.
