These look great! I was actually thinking of doing something similar to go along with the tutorial book I'm working on. Nice Work! :D

Thanks for the read. Who should I tell to put these up somewhere useful where people will find them? Say, on the blender site or something?

You should be able to use the codec together with MPlayer:

Instructions for SuSE 8.1 (from http://www.informatik.uni-freiburg.de/~ ... ausur.html)
Copy the codec (tsccvid.dll) to /usr/lib/win32 and add the following information to /etc/codecs.conf:

info "TechSmith Camtasia Screen Codec"
status buggy
fourcc TSCC,tscc
driver vfw
dll "tsccvid.dll"
out BGR15 flip

Running OS X. I have mplayer, but I don't think I can install that 'exe' codec. What ya think?

edit: I can hear the audio in mPLayer, just no video.

Have a look here, maybe that will help to watch the videos using Quicktime: http://www.techsmith.com/products/ensharpen/default.asp

I installed the codec; Quicktime will now play the video without sound.
I can get sound with VCL or Mplayer with no vid, so I can run the two apps together and get by I think.

I also have a Windows machine downstairs (so far!)

I'll get by. Thanks for the help! :)

anyone have it playing in mplayer can you transcode it to a common codec like xvid or even a quicktime3 and repost?

it would help the mac users and everyone else greatly.

I presonally aviod any non-open codec like the pleague, but that is just me.
