Use Camtasia

I put a message in the main discussion about this,
but if you have seen video tutorials from "3dBuzz.com"
you know what we can do with blender. Camtasia is basically a package
that allows you to copy screen information in realtime and marry it with
audio annotations and voice overs you provide yourself, so
you can make video tutorials without special video hardware
to copy the screen. I'm using a P4-2.4Ghz machine with 512 megs,
I suggest you do to.. By the way if you are lookign for cheap pcs,
check out noahs-pcs on ebay, I just but a P4 from them for about 800
dollars and its blazingly fast.. Warcraft III runs without a slow-down..

Anyhow, those who are giving tutorials on blender in classes, might consider using this as a method of allowing their students to take work home with them.. A average CD with DIVX 5 and mp3 audio sound track
store about 400-600 minutes, thats about 6 to 10 hours of tutorial time..

And its really easy to do if you know blender well..

Anything out there that does the same thing but cheaper or free? $300+ is a bit much for me to spend on something like that..

I agree with the idea of going "Cheap to Free" for cost.

But have you considered CamStudio ? Version 2 now supports WMV output as well as AVI. All my Blender renders now go through to WMV for easy and light (size-wise) distribution.

Any newbies or even experienced ppl will have a lot of fun on these tutes, but as I was saying, this is a good example
