beginner friendly/lazy sketchup to blender FPS?

Post by ericolon »

n00best n00b question ever: Basically I want to walk around in my sketchup model like in a FPS game, I've tried the in-sketchup solution here but for some reason I am unable to climb/move/jump upwards after leaving the default map. I've also tried to find other solutions such as sketchup->source engine/HL2, but those are 100 step solutions. that would be okay, except that those 100 steps are absolutely not beginner friendly, so I'm thinking if there is like a free blender FPS engine where I could just export from sketchup, import my model into blender, adjust some settings things textures and collision detection stuff (which I have no idea how to do in blender, and I have absolutely zero point one experience doing this in any other software), then somehow export/compile into a "game/FPS" where I can walk around in the map.

Hello
there's a great FPS template in the BlenderArtists Game Engine Resources forum:

Go try it!
