Slow render

Post by terorist_popcorn » Mon Mar 25, 2013 7:01 pm

I am using blender for a longer time now, and I make pretty complicated things. But my main problem is that when I make an animation of 30 seconds, it takes me 4 hours to render it and export as a movie. I have seen more topics with the same problem, so I am wondering is this because my computer is not really good (my graphics card is not very good) or because blender is the problem? Somebody said that it can be fixed if I make it lower quality, but I want it to be HD and not laggy, so can anybody help me?

Rendering speed depends on CPU power (or GPU).

If you want it done quicker, you can

* throw some money at the problem

* render smaller images - you can always change the image size later for a final render

* render less stuff - fewer lights, no ray-tracing, etc.
