axle not behaving as expected?

axle not behaving as expected?

hi, i have created a simple axle/wheel model, and want it to behave physically accurate in that the axis is supposed to ly in the wheels. i have applied all the locatrion and rotations and made the bodies rigid bodies. however, the wheels and axles just start jumping around when i run the animation. i have a video of it here:

does anyone know why its behaving like that? this is using the internal (i guess bullet) physics engine.
