I can't edit object in edit mode

I can't edit object in edit mode

Hi.
I install Blender 2.66a on ubuntu 13.04.
when i going to edit mode.
I can't select face/vertex/Edge.
What should i do?

did you try both mouse buttons? By default, it should be the right button, not the left!
I'm sitting, waiting, wishing, building Blender in superstition...
