My rendering is very dark

Hello,

I am new to blender so I need all the help I can get. I was following a tutorials and I think I may have done is correctly, however. When is came to rendering the final object the image was very dark. Can someone please tell me how to make my image brighter please. I have uploaded a picture of my problem on the internet I was appreciate it if you could view it and tell me what is wrong.
