importing models from 3d studio

Post by Knightmove »

Hey Guys

I’m new to blender been using it for a few days now and I would like a little help on importing a 3ds model of a Mercedes Actros truck and it’s textures into blender.
I downloaded the high quality model from the 3d studio website after paying a handsome fee.
However I have the model into the main window and when I render it there’s no glass in the head lights or mesh in the front grill on the lower portion of the bumper. Can anyone point me in the direction of some good tutorials specifically for importing models into blender.
My intention is to render an high quality photo realistic image of the truck then composite it into a photograph.
I have the model in a 3ds and .obj file with associated texture in jpg format in a folder in the zip file downloaded from the 3d studio.

Thanks for looking

Martin
