Divide model into 4 pieces for 3D printer

Post by scott216 »

I'm brand new to Blender. I have a 3D model of some mountain terrain in STL format. I want to print it out on my 3D printer, but I need to divide the model up into small pieces. So I'd like to import the STL into Blender and split it up into 4 pieces then export 4 STL files. How would I do this?

If your data is a mesh, you can use the P key to separate it into parts.

Could you give me more details. Pressing P doesn't seem to do anything.
