What panels would you recommend for beginners?

The forums here are for Blender development. Questions and discussion about *using* Blender belong on blenderartists.org If your thread was moved here, you are probably in the wrong place.

What panels would you recommend for beginners?

Post by ianhulett » Sat Aug 31, 2013 7:31 pm

I am totally new to Blender. The experience I have currently is next to nothing. The default workspace is SOOOOOOO hard to work with. So, as a beginner, I'm setting up an easy workspace for myself. It would consist of all the stuff I really need. Colors, timelines, tools, libraries, properties, etc. Can you tell me what panels that are used in Blender you would recommend for people like me who are just starting out? Thanks in advance.

Actually, the current default workspace is pretty easy to work with. What you really need is to spend time with an on line course, line the one offered at http://www.cdschools.org/Page/455 or the tutorial series at <http://cgcookie.com/blender/cgc-courses ... beginners/>. All the elements you talk about really needing are easily accessible from the default workspace windows already.

/me notes that in addition to the default Screen (3d View) there are a number of task-specific Screens predefined.

See the little dropdown menu (Choose Screen Layout) at the top.
