Help: textured blocks render white. Why?

Post by coolekakkerlak » Thu Sep 05, 2013 5:38 pm

I've got a problem. If I render an image or an animation, al my textured blocks are blank. I've dowloaded a rig, with a minecraft guy, and the guy ís textured. I don't get why. How I make a block textured:
1. I switch to edit mode and select a face of the block.
2. I hit "u" and select "unwrap".
3. I go to "UV image editor", open an image, and put the orange square around the texture I want. (sorry for my bad english... I'm dutch...)
4. I click "render image"...
... and then the result will be white, with shadows... can anybody please help me? I would be very thankfull.

What are the settings in the texture tab of the properties editor? In that tab, you have to select the texture type ("image or movie"), select the mapping (UV), &C. John Blain's book, available for free at <http://download.blender.org/documentati ... 011%29.pdf>
would be a good place to look for information on materials and textures.
