Why don't new objects start at pos. 0x, 0y, 0z?

Why don't new objects start at pos. 0x, 0y, 0z?

When I start a new file or new shape they all start at
X: -4.845
Y: 1.194
Z: 5.272

How do I change that?

P.S. Sorry if I posted this in the wrong sub-forum, I'm new to it.

Questions about using Blender are better asked at the user forums on blenderartists.org .

As for your coordinates, you probably need to correct for your geographic location. Blender was developed in the Netherlands so that is the 0,0,0 point.

No, wait! That's silly. Objects are created at the 3D Cursor location. It is like the cursor in a text editor. Move it where you want, create your object. Success!
