Compile Error Ubuntu 64 Hardy

Post by ropsta »

Code: Select all

scons: Reading SConscript files ...
ImportError: No module named Variables:
  File "/home/*****/3D/Blender/Svn/Trunk/blender/SConstruct", line 42:
    import tools.btools
  File "/home/*****/3D/Blender/Svn/Trunk/blender/tools/btools.py", line 6:
    import SCons.Variables
Downloaded from trunk. Using scons.

Possible causes/solutions.

If you had checked the commit logs too, you'd have seen that the minimum SCons version requirement is now SCons 1.0.0. Upgrade to that and try again.

Thanks guys, I was just looking for the answer to the same question. I used alien to convert the .rpm from scons.org as I know little about coding and deving.
It seems to be a later version than the Debian .deb.

Unfortunately I still have an error:-

Code: Select all

Compiling ==> 'util.c'
source/blender/imbuf/intern/util.c:67:29: error: ffmpeg/avdevice.h: No such file or directory
scons: *** [/home/organic/build/linux2/source/blender/imbuf/intern/util.o] Error 1
scons: building terminated because of errors.
avdevice.h is indeed missing.(At least it doesn't show up in a search, and it's not in ffmpeg)

Ubuntu 8.04 64 bit

Although I have upgraded to scons 1.1.0 I still have got the same error as the author of this thread (see post #1). I'm on Windows XP here.

Fixed for me at revision 17281.

Looking forward to it!
