Trying to build a 64bits Blender for OS X Can you help me?

Post by Caronte » Wed Dec 30, 2009 9:28 pm

I'm trying to build a Blender 64bits for OS X and compiler do the job, but get this error when launch Blender from terminal:

Code: Select all

84:blender Caronte$ /Users/Caronte/bf-blender/build/darwin/bin/blender
2009-12-30 21:05:49.159 blender[5405:903] Can't open input server /Library/InputManagers/QuicKeysIM
Could not find platform independent libraries <prefix>
Could not find platform dependent libraries <exec_prefix>
Consider setting $PYTHONHOME to <prefix>[:<exec_prefix>]
Fatal Python error: Py_Initialize: can't initialize sys standard streams
ImportError: No module named encodings.utf_8
Abort trap
84:blender Caronte$
P.D: I'm very new on OS X and also on compiling Blender, so will be good if you explain it easy ;)

Thanks in advance and sorry for my poor English ;)

first I need your system specs and the scons options. Look at ... ompilieren (german) for an successfully approximation.

It appears you have an issue with the dynamics libraries.

You may want to take a look at the wiki page on building 2.5 for OSX: ... er/2.5/Mac

Use the scons method (the simplest to start with).
