Package Compression type
Well to get to the point under OS X is BSD so in the next release for this platform i do not want to see .zip (the soft PC compression) please use compression native to OS X .tar.gz it is just better (and does not rely on 3rd party decompressor), Does any one else feel this way? Well please at least think about the change, thanks.
Stuffit Expander
Just to let you know, Stuffit Expander (it comes with Mac OS X) can decompress .zip files. And there's an open source command line app, unzip (I wonder why they call it that
), I think it's also called INFO-Zip or something. I think that some (but not all) versions of WinZip can handle .tar.gz, I'm not sure though. Of course, don't forget .tar.bz2!
Now THAT compresses!

Doesn't really matter to me
Doesn't really matter to me, as long as I can open it (haven't found anything yet that I can't)
Does Stuffit Expander work with .tar.bz2 files, or do you need to use a command line utility?

lets look at this from a non-self-centered view please.
more users are windows. not mac addicts, linux freaks or unix demons(you know, the little freebsd demon).
the os x, unix and linux versions will have there OWN download files, and they will be .tar.gz.
windows user have to download a third party app to open .tar.gz too so stop complaining. don't change the file format just make a new one that is tar.gz.

One way or the other it doesn't matter.
