Hello,

I just stumbled upon this site. It's about muscle simulation in Maya, an OS project, so it could be a base for a muscle system in Blender.

The project is all new.

Goofster started implementing an, albeit simple, MEL interpreter in Python. I don't know what the exact goals are but afaik it's already an interactive interpreter, capable of doing some simple MEL commands.

Yes it looks like it's gonna be MEL, but the site can provide ideas and code snippets to see how they do it. at the moment there's not much but it could get interesting, no?

Anyway, about the mel interpreter... well it could be attractive for maya users, but still, in order to be functionnal the mel api should implement all that it has implemented in maya... I read it can even be used for shader programming in Maya.
I think it's a good thing, but it needs to be a well implemented feature from start, a little like what the guys from aqsis are trying to do: implementing a good aqsis export and release it only when it's close to perfect so people don't get discouraged but half working features.

I hope some day we get a good muscles+skin system in blender!
Ciao
