New idea for next Blender

Post by Qsonyc » Thu Jun 16, 2005 12:57 pm

I have a great idea for nex Blender. This is the floting material, shaders, mirr & transp, mesh, mesh edit, etc. panel. I made a visual plan (in paint  ) :P .
The picture:

colors are the different panels.
(Material example: material, ramps, shaders, mirr&trans, texture)

This is against blender's philosophy of non-overlaying menus. I don't think it will ever be accepted.

Even the current overlapping panels are against Blenders non overlapping policy, Dont think this will get in.

See it:

Toolbar's a floting panel in the Tuhopuu3... and that is a great tool.
Prefer:
Fast editing, etc.

That not the same thing. The functions you can put in this toolbox is exclusive to the 3dview.
That's still ok, because you still "edit" the same data in a specific space(here the 3d view), but the material option isn't done for the 3dview. because 3dview wasn'T done to edit material block.
In a word blocktype=space. You can't (shouldn't mix them)
