It's not possible to write åäö in Blender

Post by patrox »

When I tried to write a text including the swedish characters åäö, nothing happened. I needed to write the short string in a text-file and then import it to see the nice characters.

Could it be little easier to write a short string in Blender?

Which version of Blender are you using? Those characters work fine in 2.44 and if I recall correctly it was fixed for 2.43 even.

I'm using Blender 2.44 and swedish keyboard-layout.

I am using Finnish layout and Ubuntu Feisty Fawn. Perhaps that makes the difference. If you want, you could add this issue to the bug tracker.

I've not experienced any problem with "åäö" with blender 2.44 in windows.

I can also use scandics, Windows Vista (although I use my own, slightly improved version of DAS keyboard www.students.tut.fi/~seres/DAS.html )
