Computer Crashes

New to Blender altough I had a older build at one time. If this is not the proper place to post this, please direct me to the right place.

I downloaded the recent build and it is crashing my system as soon as it starts. Completely locks the system up and I have to reset.

I am using SLI mode with the latest 177.9X drivers and the cards are GTX-280.

I did a quick search but did not find anything related to my specific issue, so if there are any resolutions please let me know as well.

Try running blender without SLI enabled. We don't support that at the moment.

I did try without SLI and still crashed. Then I found out all of my 3D authoring tools were doing the same thing, Houdini, Torque Constructor, ect.

I guess I had not used any of these since I upgraded to the latest driver. All 3D game engine software worked, just not the 3D tools.

I dropped back to 177.41 and all is well. Not in SLI at the moment, but it will probably be fine.
