Black Shadow on Corner of Face

Post by xljedi »

What would cause a black shadow to appear on one corner of a face when viewing the model in texture mode? ...and more importantly, how do I get rid of em?

It also appears once the model has been imported into a game, so I know it's not just a Blender display issue.

You will have to recalculate the normals (Ctrl+N).

Doesn't seem to make it any better. I had already gone in by hand and redefined (or flipped) several of the normals to get the faces in the right direction. Ctrl+N only put them back in the improper facing position, and several still had the black shadows on vertices.

There's a lot of things that could be wrong, for example unwelded vertices (remove doubles).

All the obvious things have been accounted for.

Actually it now appears to just be something goofy in the Blender v2.56a graphic display, because I'm no longer seeing it after the model is imported to a game.
