Help on exporting/importing animations in & out of blend

Post by Jedijds » Tue Jan 31, 2012 7:36 pm

I created a mesh and applied bones to it, then created another blender project. How could I move an animated mesh and its bones from a blender program into another blender project? I’ve tried a few different export-import combinations but the ones that I think would work won’t let me export or if they do, don’t let me import them. Any pointers? I’m in blender 2.61 and am quite new to animating, but know most of the basics.

You don't import/export, you use link or append.
If you link it the new blend just references the other blend file.
If you append the data is copied over to the new blend.

If you want to keep it simple append the scene from the first file
into the second one, that way you'll get everything and you can
delete the cruft you don't want. Otherwise its sometimes a bit tricky to
add everything.
