Help: Multiple textures on a single object

Post by Legious » Thu Aug 16, 2012 5:31 am

I'm currently in the middle of structuring a flower but am having troubles

I wish to apply different materials and textures to different parts of the one object. Is it possible?

For example's sake, say I wanted to make the leaves green with a marble texture and make the pedals pink with a cloud texture, what would be the procedure involved to achieve this?

Much appreciated

You need to add a material slot to your object for each material you want to use. For example for three different materials, add three material slots. Then you can put a material in each slot....either a new one or any other one that is already in your scene. To place the materials on different parts of your object, select the object, go into edit mode, then select which faces you want for the first material. Under the material you will see an "assign" tab. Click that and the selected faces will get the selected material. Then repeat for the others. The changes may not show up until you go back to object mode, and depends on if you have texture view, solid view, etc.
