Hi all,
Blender is really slow and keeps on crashing. It was fine for the last week or so and suddenly it now crashes and I can't do much.
I've updated the graphics card driver, lowered it's performance and made Blender use the video card instead of the MB integrated.
Now I've researched quite a bit and a few people recommend turning off "eye candy"...only issue is I've only been using it for 2 weeks now and I haven't got a clue how to do it? Can anyone guide me?

Turning off 'eye candy' usually refers to compositing window managers with transparency features. A lot of on-board or low-end video drivers don't do OpenGL transparency well.
Usual reasons for crashes are out of memory errors and video driver problems. Running Blender from the command line should give more information
