Exported STL have no shadows at all

Post by kondziorf » Mon Oct 28, 2013 11:25 pm

Hi,
Maybe you will know...
When I open stl from blender in solidworks or inventor i see one shade of gray silhouette. Anyone know why there are no other shades or edges? Even simple cube or sphere.
its exactly as here
http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1656 ... -stl-files

but i don't know how to use this answer
Thanks for help

STL is a file format for Stereo Lithoography - the grandfather of 3D printing. Basically a CAD format. Can't imagine why you would want shadows.
